JOE BARUZZINI

Joe had hip replacement surgery on Tuesday, Jan. 5th.... I just received this from his niece:
Good afternoon all,
I just received confirmation that Uncle Joe will be discharged to home health care on Wednesday (Feb 3rd). I spoke with his staff doctor, there at the Villages on Friday, and she stated that he's far exceeded their expectations and doing very well. He has a follow-up with the surgeon on Thursday and I'm certain his opinion will be the same. So, he should be back home by mid-afternoon on Wednesday.
Thanks,
Lisa

I'm sure Joe would love a short visit or Get Well card.

P.S. You can visit Joe at his permanent address: 600 Rivers Edge Dr. Apt 449, St. Charles, MO 63303

2010 DOOLITTLE RAIDERS REUNION
The Doolittle Tokyo Raiders are planning their 68th reunion at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio scheduled for Friday through Sunday, April 16-18, 2010. The reunion will include a free public autograph session, educational event and memorial service at the museum. In addition, a free public concert honoring the Raiders will take place at Wright State University's Nutter Center. Of the nine living Doolittle Tokyo Raiders, five are currently able to travel and plan to be on hand for the reunion events.
"The Doolittle Tokyo Raiders are living legends and their story is a fascinating part of American history," said Charles Metcalf, director of the Air Force museum. "By hosting their reunion at the museum, the public will have a chance to meet them and perhaps get an autograph, but most importantly, thank them for their courageous and admirable service to our nation."
The Doolittle Tokyo Raiders Association Inc., a private entity that organizes the reunions, is trying to secure sponsorship funding to fly in and land over 20 B-25 bombers on the runway behind the museum. After being invited, I have contacted Tom Casey of the Association and told him we will plan on flying SHOW ME to and during this great event. We have started gathering information on transportation, lodging and activities for a possible Missouri Wing members' trip to Dayton for this reunion - possibly the last one. If enough members are interested, we will attempt to organize a lowest cost possible adventure to this once-in-a-lifetime event. More information to come.

We had a great time on Saturday, Dec. 26th at the Wing when we hosted a 345th Bomb Group B-25J pilot/WWII Veteran, Capt. Al Gruer, and his family's visit to the Wing. For pictures, go back to the "Photo Gallery" link on the Home Page and click on the link at the bottom of the page. What a personable, interesting and great man he is...!!!

Please have a very Happy New Year!!! Travel safely.

Stay warm & dry,

Kilroy's is gone, but, the FLY GIRLS DINER is up and going and serves very good food. They have also cleaned the place up, so let's try to support them and help them succeed. Their burgers and salads are really good!
